Installed wordpress but dashboard wont load

  • Hi,
    I have installed the latest version of wordpress on my domain
    however the dashboard navagation will not link away from the index page (the standard wp 2012 theme)

    Initially i received the 500 error when trying to log into to wp admin – but i cleaned up my .htaccess file and it began to load the index page with dashboard nav at the top – which leaves me here!

    has anyone experienced this before?
