Hello, I installed and site still works, but why is this plugin any different than just placing ‘force_ssl_admin’ and ‘force_ssl_login’ directives in ‘wp-config.php’ ???

From the description, I was guessing that this plugin:
    1. Forced SSL for WordPress admin and login
    2. Forced site visitors to use HTTP.

It appears that if visitors browse to the site using httpS, that’s allowed, not converted to http?

So, forgive me if this is too simple of a question, but why use this plugin instead of adding some code to wp-config.php?

(To clarify, I’d like to mention that my site displays the mixed content warnings when browsed by visitors as HTTPS, so I just want to do something to 1.) Turn off HTTPS for visitors, and 2.)Force HTTPS for admin. I’m having an amazing amount of trouble accomplishing this, part of which is no doubt caused by my own ignorance, but I’ve spent dozens of hours studying, and testing plugins, and still no success.)

Thanks for any clarification and help. MTN

As described, this plugin Forces all logged in users to stay on SSL connection. Guests are still served http.

If you are logged in, all pages will be served HTTPS. If not logged in, its your choice to access http or https.
