• Using WAMP for localhost using WP 3.9.1 and a three day old install of WAMP. I had it working fine, making pages, the whole bit.

I installed this good looking IThemes Security plug in. I unzipped the folder, positioned it and went back to the blog dashboard. Upon attempting to activate, I get 403’d.

You don’t have permission to access /wp-login.php on this server.

And now I cannot get back in to either disable it, deactivate it. I also see this in the Apache server log:

[Wed May 14 23:34:25.547800 2014] [core:crit] [pid 3952:tid 860] (OS 5)Access is denied. : [client ::1:50638] AH00529: C:/wamp/www/VolZone/.htaccess pcfg_openfile: unable to check htaccess file, ensure it is readable and that ‘C:/wamp/www/VolZone/’ is executable

I looked at .htaccess. The file is there but totally empty. I brought in a fresh copy because I hadn’t edited it. No help.

So I’m completely and utterly locked out.

Only thing I can thing of is that I need to manually rip this out. But how??? Is it done via phpMyAdmin?

I’d like some assistance on this.
