To make a very long story short, I will make data sets. I have a website (appliedhappiness.org) and I used to host it on HOST1. I changed and moved it to HOST2. I just moved it back, and had to do a fresh WP install, and I want my content back.

HOST 1 – domain registered, hosted WP.

HOST 2 – nameserver changed in domain on HOST1 to hold WP now.

    Moved back:

HOST1 – changed nameservers back to original, clicked to install fresh WP.
HOST 2 – went to myphpadmin and exported ahblog.sql (DB)
HOST 1 – went to myphpadmin and imported ahblog.sql

Configured wp-config.php to reflect database, but no content it there.

AND, on top of ALL of that, I cannot see my website unless I’m using my phone. My laptops and desktop all show the old host site. I have 3 sites under one host umbrella so I can log into their FTP, open the AH domain folder and edit there. If I log into the AH FTP, it takes me to the old host.

My friends can see the new host site, my phone can see it, but I cannot. This is very frustrating. The old host is canceling tomorrow. Will I be restricted with FTP until then? Does the old host have to release the domain FTP rights? I’m so confused. I’ve been at this for hours.

Ok, I flushed my DNS entries so I have access to my site again. I’ve changed the theme and widgets to make it feel more like the original setup, but I can’t connect to my database to get my content back.

I put in the blog name – ‘ahblog’
I put in username – ‘alexanderblake’
I put in password – ‘xxxxxxxxxxxx’
I put in DB HOST (Here’s my problem)

According to Dreamhost, the server is ‘popeye.dreamhost.com’

According to myphpadmin, the server is ‘baah.appliedhappiness.org’

The baah.appliedhappiness.org is the hostname on the server, but I’m confused as to which to put.

    The wp-config setup:
When I put ‘baah.appliedhappiness.org’ I get a website, but no old content – in fact, I just get a blank white page.. When I put in ‘popeye.dreamhost.com’ I get “Failed to establish connection.’

I spoke with the host, and they’re going to resolve the blah, blah, blah.

    Any ideas?

Never mind. I figured it out. I had to go into myphpadmin and modify the imported database, and then call up the prefixes on the data in my config file.
