G’day, I hope someone can shed some light on this.
I installed eShop the other day and played around with configuring it for a little paypal shop. It was working fine and looked good. The next day when I went back the site was gone and in its place I have a “Cannot connect to the database” error message.
I guess I hope this doesn’t mean I got hacked and someone mucked around with the database. I’m in the process of contacting the person who runs the webserver to see if they can see the database still there, but in the mean time I was wondering if this is something that has happened before?

  • Have you asked your hosts whether they have any current database server issues? It’s nothing to do with eShop – that I do know.

Thanks esmi. It’s a friend’s server so I haven’t got direct access to the database but I’m trying to find that out. The timing seems very suspicious though as I’d only just installed the plugin. I hope it is just a coincidence.

Just following up to say it was a mysql fault on the server. So no problem at all with eshop which is what I hoped. Thanks esmi for your reply.
