Installed Contact Form 7 3.6 broke recaptcha

I have the same problem: After an update of Contact Form 7 the reCAPTCHA extension doesn’t work:

Darwood (or anyone else), could you please tell me how I can safely revert back to Contact Form 7 version 3.5.4 without losing my forms? I have the zip-File for 3.5.4 but I don’t want to uninstall the plugin and install the old version afterwards. Is there a way to go back to the previous version without losing my settings? Many thanks in advance!

I just FTP to my server and copied the old version straight over the new version in the plug in directory.

to manually fix do this:
edit wp-content/plugins/contact-form-7-bwp-recaptcha-extension/includes/CF7bwpCAPT.class.php
go to line 59
change from this:
add_action( ‘plugins_loaded’, array( &$this, ‘register_cf7_shortcode’ ) );

to this:
add_action( ‘plugins_loaded’, array( &$this, ‘register_cf7_shortcode’ ), 15 );

basically you need to add a 15 to reduce the load priority of the plugin and allow CF7 to load first

Tried this fix still not working for me. It still seems the author of CF7 should fix this in the main plugin!

I’ve used various values here instead of 15 with no luck. Does anything need to be edited on the better WP Re-Captcha plugin?

it works to me, first you log out and see.

There must be some other plugin conflict as it’s still not loading. I just wish the CF7 form author would reply to all these broken threads.

@adambot Thanks for your solution! It works perfectly, let’s hope @manfer picks it up too and puts the correction into the plugin extension.

@ccolotti – what contact form 7 related plugins do you have installed? also — have you tried changing the 15 to 20 or even 30?

No numbers worked. I instead installed PLugin Organizer to control the load order…much better option, however would be nice if the CF7 form author would just fix it.
