    Hi,

I see this plugin installed in 2 sites i run BUT i never installed that. Some other plugin must have included that.

Any ideas what other plugin is doing that?

    Thanks

OK, that is weird. It’s possible your hosting service installed the plugin. No hosting service or other plugin developer has told me they are installing this plugin on peoples’ sites.

It’s not hard to imagine that a hosting service would want to install the plugin in customer sites. It reduces MariaDB / MySQL overhead, and so it saves power and makes things faster for their customers.

What hosting service do you use?

Hi, the owner asked the hosting support about it … and YES they installed the plugin. Bad practice imho without a notice.

I guess activating it does the job and then we can simply remove it or needs to stay active?

    thanks.

Simply activating it isn’t enough. Please read the first few paragraphs of the repository listing.

Once you have added the high-performance keys you can deactivate and delete the plugin.

    Hi,

There is no Add Keys button. All i see is:

    Success

You have added high-performance keys to these tables. You can revert them to WordPress’s standard keys.

    wp_commentmeta, wp_comments, wp_options, wp_postmeta, wp_posts, wp_termmeta, wp_usermeta, wp_users

So it must be already set.

OK, then, you need do nothing else. Your hosting service must have both activated the plugin and added the high-performance keys.

Who is the hosting service? I’d like to give them credit for doing this for their customers.
