This is HIGHLY unacceptable! I installed this plugin and removed it as it wasn’t what I wanted and it took of the password protection on my already password protected posts!!! UNACCEPTABLE!! I dont remember which ones were protected!

No supported Required! This is a MAJOR bug please save other people from this experience. Thank you

    Hi @sharrondenice,

First of all, we’re really sorry for any inconvenience caused when using our plugin.

Technically, we have to migrate your default WordPress passwords to our system for our protection to work properly.

For example, WordPress only allows you to set 1 password while our plugin allows unlimited passwords per content.

We can’t use 1 password from WordPress data and the rest from ours. That’s why converting passwords is necessary.

For better user experience, we’ll run the migration processes in the background so that you don’t have to do so manually.?

The password migration proccess is explained in our documentation.

You can absolutely back up & restore WordPress default password protection after deactivating our PPWP plugins.

To do that, simply press “Restore Now” button under the Advance tab on PPWP settings page.

Please let us know if you have any other questions in the comment below or simply drop us an email at hello(at)preventdirectaccess.com for faster response from our team, @sharrondenice.

Well as it wasn’t what I wanted I removed it and it took the passwords with it. I will have to wing it to remember which posts were password protected.

    Hi Sharron,

If so, we’d recommend you to:

    • Re-install our PPWP Lite (Free) plugin on your site.
    • Restore default WordPress passwords using our function.
    • Deactivate our PPWP Lite plugin if you’d like to.

Anyway, do you mind sharing with us which parts of our PPWP Lite didn’t work for you so that we can help?

Actually, our PPWP plugins provide you with a lot of advanced features such as creating unlimited passwords per content.

You might also want to drop us an email at hello(at)preventdirectaccess.com for faster response from our team, @sharrondenice.

I wanted to be able to see only my password protected posts. I see All, Public, Mine, Private, Draft, Sticky, Trash but nothing for “Secure”…thats all.

    Hi Sharron,

We understand your frustration. When you deactivated PPWP Lite, there was a warning pop up that should have recommended that you restore all your previously created passwords before deactivating to avoid protected pages and posts becoming public:

Fortunately, you can retroactively restore these passwords by following our steps that we’ve outlined in a previous post:

    • Re-install our PPWP Lite (Free) plugin on your site.
    • Restore default WordPress passwords using our function.
    • Deactivate our PPWP Lite plugin if you’d like to.

If you are still having issues, please don’t hesitate to send us an email at hello(at)preventdirectaccess.com where you’ll receive a quicker and more streamlined response.

I think I did see that but was there a pop-up that said they had all been removed to start? I thought it was speaking of passwords created using the tool. In any case I resolved the issue, I have an Activity Log installed and it was able to tell me which posts were modified by the plugin and I used that as a reference to restore all the deleted passwords. I tagged the posts as Protected now so I can reference them without a header label.

    @sharrondenice,

Great! We’re so happy to hear that you were able to find your previously protected posts.

If you ever decide to try our plugins again and have any issues at all, please reach out to us at hello(at)preventdirectaccess.com ??
