I have a registered domain name (www.judelandry.me) and host as well with GoDaddy. The problem I have is once I was prompt to install 3.8.1 WordPress from the Linux Hosting CPanel GoDaddy had to offer, everything looked like it installed with no errors or anything. I clicked the link to try and access the admin panel which is (www.judelandry.me/wp-admin/) I got nothing, just a white screen without an login admin panel. Only thing that happens is the usual timeout screen you get once it searches too long and finds nothing.

I tried looking all over for some answers on trying to fix this problem on the www.remarpro.com forums, no luck. I see that a lot of people are having crazy amounts of problems with this new 3.8.1 installation. Any help on trying to fix my problem? I would THRILLED just to get the WP Admin to show up at least (so I can sign in)

    Any help is GREATLY appreciated!
    Jude

  • How long ago did you register your domain name? It can take up to 72 hours for a domain name to become “usable” (as in your Internet Service Provider may not be aware that your domain name points to that particular server and therefore nothing shows up…yet). The best solution is to just be patient and give it a day or two.

Or you can request the specific IP address for your site from your host to use until the domain name has propagated.

I just bought the domain name on Feb. 1st and the host from GoDaddy was today (Feb. 2nd).
So you are saying that although it may SHOW that my domain name points to the hosting already according to the server but it really isn’t? That is actually takes up to 3 days before it fully integrates?

    Yes.

Well, I can browse to (www.judelandry.me) and get an under construction page. I tried (www.judelandry.me/wp-admin/) and got the standard WordPress login.

So, from my vantage point, it seems to be working.

Yea seems to be working fine

I cannot even figure out how to . . . what? Finding support pages impossible to navigate. Started WP years ago, when it was so simple, dropped it and am lost now. Once I’ve finished filling out Profile, what’s next? How do I get an Administration pg, or even begin to create my own?

    Thanks –

Problem has been resolved. Had nothing to do with WordPress or even the new version 3.8.1 It was a clerical error on GoDaddy’s part. The domain name and hosting wasn’t propagated correctly. It was pointing my domain name to some other hosting ip address which wasn’t even mine. Strange, yes.

But that has been resolved and the WordPress installed smooth with no problems. It has an construction page due to my custom wp theme still being worked on by me. Thanks for looking out anyways. I appreciate it.
