Installation succesfull, can't see dashboard

    Good afternoon,

    It’s my first time on this forum, because I never had any troubles using WordPress.

    Today I downloaded WP 3.2.1 to my PC and installed it on my server. I finished the installation succesfully, but when I want to login I get in Internet Explorer a 500 error (in Opera I get a blank screen). When I go to my website (so without /wp-admin), you can see WP works and I’m already logged in. But when I want to go to my dashboard (the control panel) I can’t get any access.

    I already download older versions (3.0), but I get the same error. Can anyone help me to fix this problem? Thank you!

  • Hi l1n,

    Typically, 500 errors are generic in nature. If your server has an error log you can view, it’s a good place to start. When I’ve encountered 500 errors in the past it’s almost always related to file permissions. You may want to make sure that all your file permissions are set correctly.
