    I’d like to install WordPress to give it a try. I can install it (most likely very easily) through Cpanel. I’ve heard it is sometimes better to install manually, so that upgrades and future releases can be installed better. Any suggestions before I install? Is Cpanel a fair way to go?

    In my opinion no. A look at some of the one-click install problems…also, as you pointed out – upgrading is problematical.

    Thank you for the link to the cpanel install video. Is there another I should watch for the alternate installation method that would help me avoid the problems you have indicated are common with Cpanel (or one-click) installations?
