• Hi there everyone,

I hope that someone can help me out here. I have had a browse through the posts and still cant work it out. Apologies if there is a solution that i missed.

I have a domain name registered with Domainit along with a hosting plan. They offer php and sql. So as instructed i went into the control panel, then mysql. There i enabled sql and it gave me details of my sql databse. It said to access it i had to use phpmyadmin. I used the link and saw there was one databse updowntrader_com.

Attempting to make any new databse such as blog or wordpress_blog failed. It would give me an error message. So i figured i would try and edit the config file with the details of the existing updowntrader_com database.

I did this and used filezila to upload all the necessary files onto the server. HOwever when i try to open the install file in the browser it just says done and there is a blank page.

I have a feeling it has to do with user privileges on the database however i cant seem to change add or view any user privileges on phpmyadmin. The tutorial says clcik the Privileges button but there is not one on the phpmyadmin page.

Sorry if this seems long winded, any help woud really be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hey

Thanks for replying but i dont see anything similar to what is shown in the screenshots.. When i click mysql manager it just shows my the details of my database eg.

    Username:
    Password:
    Database name:
    Server/Host:
    Port:

I thought the above data may have been sufficeint to edit the config file but it wont work when i try to install on my browser.

Under this is a link to phpmyadmin where they say you can administer your sql database. However even there i cannot add users or privileges. Getting a bit frustrated trying to work this out been at it for a few days. I have contacted the support at Domainit to see if they can help and posted on here. Dont really know what else to do.

Thanks for your help and if you know any other way to help me!

my host is DomainIt. I have their standard hosting package which supports MySQL.

    Really appreciate your help

in your hosting control panel – when you click on “MySQL Manager” – it should show all the info you need
if you actually log in to phpmyadmin you can find the host name near top of page

yeah thats what i thought, so i input all the information that was displayed into the relevant parts of the config file but it wont install when i access it in the browser. Thats my issue i dont know what to try next.

I made sure that the config file on the server was the updated one and tried several times. I have also combed the config file in case i made a typo but cant see one. I know my username, password, host and all that info but it still wont install.

if you want me to look at it I will
I have some work to do so it will be 4-5 hours
    just email me
