WordPress (WP) was working fine for me last night, however, this morning I went to install a clean version of WP since my folder was gummed up with a bunch of test files, etc. I try to reinstall and get the following error:

Warning: require_once(/home/xxx/public_html/Parrish/wp-includes/load.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/xxx/public_html/Parrish/wp-load.php on line 49

Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘/home/xxx/public_html/Parrish/wp-includes/load.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/xxx/public_html/Parrish/wp-load.php on line 49

I’ve subsequently deleted all the files, downloaded and installed a fresh copy of WP about 5 times resulting in the same error. Please help! Like I said, this worked for me fine last night. I’m very frustrated.

WordPress is looking for the load.php file at /public_html/Parrish/wp-includes/

Is that where the file currently is, or do you perhaps have WordPress installed in a different directory?

    Oh thank you so much!

I extracted the wordpress zip, and when I uploaded the folders to my file, the folders (perhaps corrupted?) changed to text documents.

I went back and uploaded wordpress as a zip, extracted in cpanel, thus preserved the file structure.

    Thank you again!
