Installation failed: Download failed. Unauthorized

    I am always getting this error when I try to install free plugin from wordpress dashboard. “Installation failed: Download failed. Unauthorized” . But actually that plugin is downloaded.. and I need to go to plugin list then and then activate it. To make it more clear I go to add plugin . Then search for plugin.. then install it . then it shows “Installation failed: Download failed. Unauthorized” this error and no “activate” options shows at that time. But later I go to plugin list and I see that plugin inactive and then I press activate it then its activated. So this is odd. I tried many things.. but still same. I set temp directory etc.. but still same.. Please help

  • Hi @amanhstu,

    Does it still happen if you temporarily disable all plugins, and switch to one of the Twenty* themes?

    If not, them try re-activating the plugins one-by-one until the problem re-appears. Once you’ve found the conflicting plugin, you can contact it’s author for support.

    Its now working,, not sure why
