Installation failed: Destination folder already exists

  • Contact Form 7 disappeared from my WordPress plugins. It is not available under: All, Active, Inactive, update available, must-use or drop-ins.

    I get the following notice: This theme recommends the following plugin: Contact Form 7. Begin installing plugin | Dismiss this notice

    When I go to install required plugins I receive the following error(s): Plugin installation failed. An error occurred while installing Contact Form 7: Destination folder already exists. /home/content/n3pnexwpnas01_data02/13/3792013/html/wp-content/plugins/contact-form-7/.

  • I suggest to delete the destination folder manually (using FTP or an FTP program like Filezilla). If installation still fails after that then download the add-on, unzip it and copy the folder to thew wp-content/plugins folder.
