    Using nextgen 2.1.15

Tried installing through the plugin uploader and ended with a completely blank screen. Refreshed the page and got the following errors:
Warning: fopen(/home3/xxx/public_html/xxxxxx.com/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/nggallery.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home3/xxx/public_html/xxxxxx.com/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4305

Warning: fread() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in /home3/xxx/public_html/xxxxxx.com/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4308

Warning: fclose() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in /home3/xxx/public_html/xxxxxx.com/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4311

I removed the plugin through my control panel. I tried installing again, by first downloading the plugin, and then uploading through plugins menu. And I get the same errors.

I once again deleted the plugin via control panel. But now I can no longe even login to wordpress as I get the following erors on the login page — nothing else on the page, just these errors:

Warning: fopen(/home3/xxx/public_html/xxxxx.com/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/nggallery.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home3/xxx/public_html/xxxxx.com/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4305

Warning: fread() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in /home3/xxx/public_html/xxxxxx.com/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4308

Warning: fclose() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in /home3/xxx/public_html/xxxxx.com/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4311

Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home3/xxx/public_html/xxxxxx.com/wp-includes/functions.php:4305) in /home3/xxx/public_html/xxxxxx.com/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 1207

So as it stands now, I can no longer login. I have cleared browser cache, flushed dns and tried viewing the site from a proxy server, but still get the errors. Any ideas?

@rpvp – Although I cannot say what might be causing these issues on your site, have you tried installing NextGEN Gallery with *all* other plugins deactivated?

Meaning de-activate all plugins, then install yours, then activate all again one by one? No, shouldn’t have to do that. Solved it by loging into my site via login.php, using optimize db plugin to delete all transients, then simply installed a DIFFERENT gallery plugin. Problem solved and I have a beautiful gallery.
