• So bear with me now im new to this, i recently installed EasyPHP and decided go ahead and install WordPress i got my instructions off of this site
    https://quirm.net/2011/05/05/installing-wordpress-locally-using-easyphp/
i got to the instalation and got this error

    Error establishing a database connection
This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at 127.0.0.1. This could mean your host’s database server is down.

Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
Are you sure that the database server is running?
If you’re unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host. If you still need help you can always visit the WordPress Support Forums.

Im trying to set it to 127.0.0.1 instead of localhost and im not sure what to do or what im doing wrong any ideas?

  • Did you create a database and username? On that link you’ve provided, scroll down to the part that says

“Create your WordPress Database and User”

it looks like this step was skipped.
