    Good morning,

I have a problem when installing the plugin.

    I get this error:
“Installation failed: Unable to copy file. google-site-kit/third-party/google/apiclient-services/autoload.php”

I also tried installing from incognito mode but nothing.

    Thanks for the support

Thanks for getting in touch @zetaworks,

Based on your comments it sounds like there may be something at host level or with your previous installation resulting in you not being able to install or update Site Kit.

If you have access to your site via FTP or by your hosting control panels file manager, can you try to manually remove the Site Kit directory, located at wp-content/plugins/google-site-kit on a typical WordPress install?

Once you remove the directory you can attempt to install or update the plugin once more. Let me know if you need any assistance with this. Please take caution that you only remove the Site Kit plugin directory, and no other files. Your hosting provider may be able to assist with this if uncertain,

    Dear James

I checked my FTP but inside the “Plugins” folder I have no folder related to a previous installation, called “google-site-kit”.

Would a manual installation of the plugin from FTP be better?

    Thanks for the support

Sorry to hear that @zetaworks. In that case, can you share the following:

    1. Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.??
    2. Have you previously at any stage installed Site Kit on this site?
    3. Do you see any warnings or errors when checking yourSite Health status (Tools > Site Health > Status), which differs from your Site Health information requested above? Such errors may include REST endpoint references.

Would a manual installation of the plugin from FTP be better?

Great suggestion! Before placing an unzipped version of Site Kit directly via FTP, have you tried installing by uploading the zip file, testing both the current version (1.98.0) and maybe version 1.96.0, which you can access from here, see below.

Let me know if you have any questions with the above.

    Dear James

I solved by installing the plugin from FPT.
The previous errors I think were due to the PHP configuration of the server.

Thank you very much for the quick and perfect support

Glad to hear that @zetaworks. If you have any further Site Kit queries or run into any errors, be sure to reach out. Best of luck.
