I tried installing wp through Fantastico and it wasn’t working…after repaeated atempts. I know I put all the correct info in too.

So now I’m trying to manually install and its not working either. I get all my files uploaded which was a challenge in it-self, and I go to the page “/wp-admin/install.php” and I get an error message.

I checked and rechecked my database information. At the bottom of my cpanel mysql page it says my host is “localhost” and I carefully put in the database username and password but its still not working!

Please I need help! Whats going wrong? Fantastico wont set it up properly and neither can I.

  • Are you installing the files directly into the public_html directory, or into a folder at the same level as the public_html directory?

    Public html > wp > wp-files

My files are organized to the above. I do have a copy of my wp-index in my root directory: public html > [wp]index. In my indiex I have the path correct, it reads ./wp/wp-blog-header.php. And in my options panel I have the blog address set to my domain and my wp files set to enthused.org/wp/

I’m positive I set everything up correctly. Not only because I double checked everything 50 million times after manual instalation, but because even when I install WP with Fantastico, it doesn’t work either.

I have the same error messages in my log files. This issue is marked as resolved but i can’t find any final post in this thread that indicates it was ever fixed.

If anyone sees this post and has some info on how to find the mystery resolution please let me know!!!

My blogs are bombing out completely taking my whole domain down…
