Installation does not work

    I’ve followed the installation instructions by simply dropping the plugin into my plugins directory and it does not work.

    I get this error on every page of my site, both the front end and the back end:
    Error: There was an error connecting to the server, Please verify the settings are correct.

    I can’t edit any settings because the entire site is bricked. Can someone please help me with an actually useful, explanative installation guide?
