• Hello,

to whomever can help with this, I chose to use the install4free service offered by www.remarpro.com.

I sent the request on 12/17 and after a quick reply from the person who was supposed to do the installation, I sent him an email containin all the information related to my website, usernames, passwords, ftp info, etc.

Ever since then, no installation has taken place, I have sent this person several emails, sometimes he replies telling me he didnt get the info (yet he got the email where i ask about it).

Long story short, I have re-sent him the info 4 times, using 2 different email accounts in case his spam filter was acting up…still to no avail.

Still no WordPress installation and I havent heard again from him, sent him 2 emails during the end of last week and still no reply.

What to do, should I be concerned about the info I provided, as requested by this free ‘service’?

  • Apologies for the confusion. You will be contacted again shortly.

I sent an email and sent the information for my server, but never got a reply. The only reason I haven’t complained or asked about the progress is because of the holidays and wasn’t in a big rush to get it installed. But now i see i’m not the only person iwth this problem. i’ve not heard back from the guy since i sent him my information. But i’ve been trying to be patient.

    Thanks!

jacobpressures: please click on my name to the left and fill out the Contact form there and a follow-up email will be sent to you. Thanks for being patient.

We attempt to respond to every request at Install4Free. Because we ask for sensitive information like passwords and other account details, it is very easy for mails like ours to get caught up in spam filters.

I also apologise for the inconvenience. I am considering setting up a web-based form for entering details rather than email-based communication, which would get rid of the spam filter obstacle.

jacobpressures–I’ve not received an email from you requesting installation so I’ve made a comment on this thread about the brinkster wp-config.php setup that may help you.

Thanks, I figured it out. I worked all along. I uploaded the file to my FTP site but was trying to access it at work on my work computer. WHen i tried the link i aways got an error. But when i connected my laptop to the phone line and did it, it worked. So it was the firewall i guess. I don’t know why there was a difference.

Sorry for all the trouble but i wasn’t expecting my work computer to cause such problems.

Thanks guys. Maybe this is a lesson learned once for all times.

jacobpressures, it was probably your browser cache.

    @ hospitaller

Just in case my emails from Jan 6 and Jan 9 are not getting through to you…

Have you heard anything from your host about the issue where I couldn’t use phpMyAdmin to access your MySQL database?

Let me know what they say and I will happily finish that installation for you.
