Install WP without the scripts

  • Hi All,

    We want to create a copy of my site for testing so we copied every thing (wp-content, wp-admin, the DB, etc.) to a sub folder in the domain.

    If I go to my-domain.com/copy I get 404 error.
    There is no dashbord for the /copy wordpress

    Please advise.

  • Hi Nahum,

    You will need to copy the entire WordPress folder, not just the wp-content folder. Withing your my-domain.com/copy you should have all your WordPress installation files and folders.

    You will also need to update your database to your new installation location.

    Yep, that is what we did. It is not just copying but also changing some config php files and we are missing something.
