install WP using domain name hosted elsewhere?

  • My WP, theme framework or child theme install has an error and needs to be reinstalled.

    The domain name I intend to transer is live on another host. So, as I worked on the (bad) install of WP I used the web hosts extension domain name.

    I need to do a fresh install and the web host says I can’t do another extension.

    Can I do the set up using the (future intended) domain name that is live on another host and view changes via the wp admin “view page’ option?

  • Not 100% sure what it is that you are trying to achieve, but you will not be able to use a domain that is hosted (or that is pointed to) on one server to preview a WordPress installation on another.

    Please explain what you’re trying to do ??
