Install WordPress without server and domain

  • Hi guys,
    I need help on this urgently. My client already had a website(not wordpress). He would like me to do a new website using WordPress without doing anything to the existing one until it is completed.
    Is there a way I can install wordpress on their domain without overwrite the current existing one?

  • I have always just unzipped the WordPress download into the domain root folder (public_html or htdocs or whatever) and then go to domain.com/wordpress/.
