Install WordPress along with my current website

Hello,

I already run a website (www.greekmacuser.com made with Apples iWeb) and I want to move it to WordPress. Is there a way to keep my old site running and install WordPress in the same domain ? I am thinking about this because I don’t want my site to go offline for the days it will take me to setup the new one. Can I simply make a new folder named WordPress, along with all the existing content of my website, setup the WordPress version there and then simply delete all the other components of my current iWeb version ?
