    Hi folks,

Im trying to setup a copy of a wp install that I was sent just the files and db (.sql file) from.

I’d like to do this so that I can export the posts in the correct manner via the WP export function and transfer them to our new WP site.

Ive setup a local Apache server, created a new db, importing from the copy db sql file and copying the WP files into the apache httpdocs directory.

I changed the settings in the wp-config file so that everything should link up.

However, when I browse to the installation in the browser (eg “localhost/httpdocs/wp/index”), the browser is still getting redirected t attempt setup which shows the error message

“The file ‘wp-config.php’ already exists. If you need to reset any of the configuration items in this file, please delete it first. You may try installing now.”

What is the best way of continuing from this point? Can I continue with the install using the “try installing now” link and WP will not overwrite the files already there, or do i need to edit something to tell WP it doesn’t need to run the install??

    Thanks!!
