I’m looking for some advice as to why wordpress isn’t installing properly today.
I have installed it twice before on my LunarPages account with minimal troubleshooting, however today I am installing it for my fiancé on his server and it’s not working.

I went into the godaddy domain on the VPS via Plesk first and created a database and a SQL username and password.

    I downloaded wordpress v.3.5.1,

I renamed the wp-config.php file, and added my database, username and password info to it, (I WASNT SURE ABOUT whether or not to change ‘localhost’ in this configuration, so if someone could tell me what that’s supposed to be set to that might help.)

Next, I uploaded everything into the httpdocs folder via Fetch FTP

I attempted to log in to log in by typing
    https://childhooddreams.tv/wp-admin/install.php and
    https://childhooddreams.tv/httpdocs/wp-admin/install.php
into my browser but all it goes nowhere. when I type in https://childhooddreams.tv all I get is go daddy’s page suggesting I build my website.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks!
    Jme

  • Is the domain definitely pointing at the server?

    Thank you,

That might be the problem. About 2 hours ago I went through the steps of makeing type A and type NS records in my domain’s DNS settings.

I went into the server settings to change the nameserver and it’s set to NS75.DOMAINCONTROL.COM and NS76.DOMAINCONTROL.COM. When I change them to ns1.childhooddreams.tv and ns2.childhooddreams.tv, it just seems to change them right back….

I got this email a few minutes ago:

    Dear Registration Private,

The modifications you requested for the domain CHILDHOODDREAMS.TV have FAILED.

    Error: Required parameter missing

I recommend you contact GoDaddy support and tell them about the error. They should be able to sort out the name servers for you.
