    Hello,

Installing a fresh copy of WordPress and it is taking much more than 5 minutes. I’m getting to step 2 of the install, but it dies in the middle of generating the page.

I take a look at the DB and it seems the tables are created; however, much of the data is not populated.

So it seems that in the middle of step 2, installation just stops. I added some echo messages to the PHP code and I found out that it is failing around/in the populate_options() function in the install.php call.

Please Help.. need some advice as to how to proceed.

    BTW i’m on PHP 4.4.2 Mysql 5.0.16 Linux 2.4.28
