    Hello,

In my WooCommerce store I have 3 variations of the same product. The product can be sold for 1, 3 or 10 devices. I have made 3 separate product pages for each variation. The customer can now only see the other variations on the bottom of the product page under “Related products”.

However, I want a small drop-down menu at the top of the page where the customer can choose the amount of devices. When doing so, it should change the product page to the other product page with the other URL. I tried installing the default product variations of WooCommerce, but then it doesn’t change to another product page. I also can’t find how to connect another existing product page to a variation attribute.

So how do I generate this drop down menu with the product variations, that changes to another product variation’s page when selecting another version? All while maintaining 3 separate product pages with its own URL and that are shown separately also in the product archive pages.

I hope this is understandable and feasible. An example of what I mean can be seen here:

  • Hey there, @joukeschotanus! Thanks for contacting us.

On WooCommerce, by default, variable products (which would allow you to have the dropdown for the different options) are created as one product.

This means that they share the same product page (both on the front and back end) and same URL.

So, by default, while you would be able to get the product dropdown, it would not change the URL or have separate product pages.

This is something you might be able to achieve with custom code.

While we can’t provide support for code customization as per our support policy, we do our best to offer advice and direct you to appropriate resources.

You can visit the WooCommerce Facebook group or the #developers channel of the WooCommerce Community Slack. We’re lucky to have a great community of open-source developers for WooCommerce, and many of our developers hang out there too.

I’m going to leave it open for a bit to see if anyone is able to chime in and help you out further.

    Have a wonderful day!

Just to note, another option would be to create a menu, utilizing the Navigation block, and make it a drop-down, with custom links to each product page. As it is a block, it could be placed anywhere, with a block based theme.

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – we’ll be here if and/or when you are ready to continue.
