• I recently purchased a new domain name and added it to my account at Hostgator. Everything propigated and I began set up of WP on the site. Root file.

At first, I used the fantastico sript tp install WP 2.2 on the site. Installed. Problem: nothing is working quite right. CSS stylesheet wasn’t being read, login would shour boxes, but not tile gifs… So, I removed the installation and installed manually. Worked great. All errors fixed, with one minor problem. URLs.

The main URL came up fine. But, when you clicked on an article, the url would show as a subdomain. Example: the site is blogging4cash.info. That comes up perfect, no url change, When you would click on an article though, it would show the url as a subdomain, blogging4cash.thejesusmyth.com/article.

So, I have reverted to the fantastico install. I want to do the manual install because the current one is not working properly (feel free to check it out). But I do not want the article url’s to show as a subdomain.

    Any ideas?

Do the manual install, go into the Admin section | Options | Permalinks and play with those options, and see which one suits your needs.

P.S. I have 4 WordPress 2.2.2 blogs installed on a HostGator server and everything is working perfectly.
