• I’m wondering if it’s possible to install WP on a subdomain of a a site that’s running WP. Basically, I don’t want to use WP’s networking functionality for a few reasons, but would like to set up a separate Buddypress install on a subdomain. My main install is set up so that in my root directory I only have the index.php file with the actual install in a subdirectory. That’s functioning fine. I tried creating another subdirectory and setting up a subdomain using that as the subdomains main directory, dropped in an index.html file and then tried to go to: https://subdomain.realdomain.org but got a 404 error. Typing in https://realdomain.org/subdomain did bring up the index.html file, but I suspect if I were to try and install WP there I’d see some issues. Thanks for the help.

Yep, I understand that buddypress is a plugin. I’m basically trying to find out if I can have a complete separate WordPress install on a subdomain. That install would have the BP plugin.

If you are installing a wordpress in subdomain name then I do not see reason why it will not work.
