    Hello, Stephen,

This is Judy from George Mason University. We have installed LTI 1.2 (version) on our wordpress site a long time ago. On our LMS (blackboard learn), we set up the connection using basicLTI building block.

Now we want to upgrade the LTI 1.2 to LTI tool (1.3). We also want to configure the LTI integration on Blackboard, without the basicLTI building block. Can you help me with the parameters I need to fill to

The first step is to enter a Client ID. I am not sure what this will be.

    Thanks.

    –Judy

The “Register LTI 1.3/Advantage Tool?” link you quoted is to a protected site, but the wiki page at https://github.com/celtic-project/wordpress-lti/wiki/Administration outlines the parameters to be entered when creating a configuration for an LTI Platform (which will be provided to you by the LTI Platform administrator), and the details about your tool to be shared with the LTI Platform administrator to complete the setup at their end.

    Hi, Stephen,

Thanks for getting back to me. As I am the administrator for both wordpress (LTI platform) and Blackboard Learn, I need to figure out the parameters for both sides. I am reviewing the wiki page you sent to me for LTI platform. At the same time, I need to register an LTI 1.3 tool on BlackBoard side as following.

    Administrator Tools

Administrator Panel LTI Tool Providers Register LTI 1.3 Tool

    Register LTI 1.3/Advantage Tool

    Enter Client ID

    Client ID ____________________

I am not sure what value I can input as the client ID so I just randomly type in courseblogs13 and then submit. I got the error message as “courseblogs13 isn’t available through the Developer Portal”

    Please help.

With Learn, you need to first set up LTI tools in the Anthology developer portal. This will give you a client ID to enter into your Learn instance. Check the Learn documentation; e.g. https://help.blackboard.com/Learn/Administrator/SaaS/Integrations/Learning_Tools_Interoperability.
