Install in other server

  • I have downloaded a folder from a server
    and copy all files into a new subfolder

    Old server: https://www.hausmann3000.ch
    new https://www.silberhaare.ch/hausmann3000

    Error
    This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host’s database server is down.

    Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
    Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
    Are you sure that the database server is running?

    Do I have to change anywhere the path ?
    The wp-config.php is copied from old server

    by the way: Installing WP in normal way is running – but with empty database

  • Did you change the urls in Settings General before you moved to new server as domain name is changed.

    check with your new host what you need to use as DB_Host as may be they use something else ten localhost

    My problem:
    I only have save a part of my posts from the old serve.
    I have imported only the part and have lost many posts.
    I cannot access the old URL.

    Now I tried to copy the whole folder but I have no access. in which file are the post stored ? I can see all files (images) but no posts.

    Your posts are saved in database you will not find them in files

    Have you entered the same database name and username?

    Check your database name prefix.

    If you still able to login to your old server database, export your database into sql file and restore it to your new database.

    Then change the blog URL on wp_options table to your new URL.
