• Hi,
I am using Godaddy as my hosting provider.
I installed a wordpress site using the 5 minute install and had everything running happily for the past couple of weeks.

This morning I went to my site and it was hanging when I browsed it.
Since it’s a new install I simply delete all the files recreatd the database (as I did before) and tried to reinstall.

I’ve edited my config file and am at the step where I browse to https://www.mysite.com/wp-admin/install.php.
When I go there the page just hangs. In my browser status bar it says ‘Waiting for https://www.mysite.com…’ and the page is blank.

In the past if I had a wrong db name or password I’d get a message telling me so. So it’s not that.

    I’m stumped.
    Anyone seen this before?

    Thanks

  • Not sure?? Make sure you upload the wp-config-sample.php file first with all your other WP files, then upload your wp-config.php file, and then delete the sample folder. I’ve had some install errors not following this step exactly like this.

I don’t remember if you can Power cycle a hosting account but if you can you might also want to try that.

Sorry I couldn’t be more help.

    Chris
