• I get the following errors when I run the install script:
    : No such file or directory
    ./install.php: =: command not found
    : command not found
    ./install.php: line 3: syntax error near unexpected token (!file_exists('../wp-config.php')'
    '/install.php: line 3:
    if (!file_exists(‘../wp-config.php’))
    I’m running the install script from the command line so that I can see the errors. From my browser I get a 500 error and my error_log gives me nothing useful.

    I spoke with Matt on AIM and he advised that WordPress probably shouldn’t live in the cgi-bin directory. I moved it out and the installation went successfully. I ran into other problems as soon as the installation completed. When I tried to log on with the username and password provided I got a 403 error (Forbidden).
