I’d like to install amp, but I’m afraid it’s going to crash my whole site.

I’m going to read it because I don’t think my site is compatible.

Is it possible to uninstall the plugin easily if it makes everything crash after installation?

My site is slow, in read mode, this plugin will speed up my site.

@chrirelle While your concerns are understandable you don’t need to worry about AMP crashing your site, as activating the plugin with default settings only impacts the AMP version of your content.

Both reader mode and transitional mode ensure your non AMP site remains the same, while having an AMP version of your content available.

If you are looking to go 100% AMP via standard mode then you’ll need to ensure you have everything working as it should in AMP, using compatible themes and plugins, or plugins which don’t impact the front end of your site.

Why not give the plugin a try in reader mode to start, then compare performance using web.dev. It may take some work to ensure everything works as it should do, but if you’re planning a revamp at some stage consider AMP compatible themes and plugins.

    ok

I’ll do it like this. I want to improve performance. I didn’t make my site directly and I went through a team of developers so that’s why I’m worried. Yes, when I redo my site, I will think about all this. But now my site is new and not at the top technical level….

    Thank you for that.

@chrirelle No problem at all. And no need to be a technical genius when using AMP compatible themes, the plugin and a compatible theme ensure you just need to add your own content as usual, while enjoying AMP in standard mode.
