Instalation failed

Please be a little more descriptive, nobody can help you when you post stuff that makes no sense.

How is it failing? What is happening? List the procedure you used to install, list your hosting provider. ETC. people need to know this stuff in order to help.

By installing the latest version do you mean upgrading?

I am so sorry for the non descriptive cry for help, haha, but I am not a computer person, so I don’t understand what is going on when it doesn’t work as usual.

Well here goes the more descriptive version,
when i log in at my wordpress page it is a message at the top saying that version 3.6.1 is available, please upgrade now. When I press upgrade now it keep giving me the same message, “couldt install folder .: /home/3/j/julieterese/www/blog/wp-content/upgrade/wordpress-3.tmp
instalation failed”

I dont know what to do. Please help me, I havent been able to blog or do anything for a couple of days and this is my space to do my hobby ??

Do you have FTP access to your website folder on the server?

I have no idea, nothing works, I dont know what to do. I cant even upload photos, so I have not been able to blog in several days, and I am going to Paris tomorrow to blog about fashion week. Do you know how or who can help me?

Is this seriously how it works?
It is not my fault that it doesn’t work, and now i have to wright here for help and is left all by my self to fix that really annoying problem. This is the worst service I have ever experienced. I have to change to a norwegian platform where they fix everything for you when problems accrue.

When bemdesign asked if you have FTP access, he/she was trying to help you. If you don’t know what FTP is, Google it. Then ask your web hosts if you have FTP access, the answer will probably be yes. Then come back here and say, “Yes, I have FTP access, what next”.

Simply replying with “I have no idea” isn’t helpful if you’re expecting people to provide free support.

WordPress is free software and this free forum is staffed by unpaid volunteers. We cannot do anything for you. All we can do is help you to help yourself. If all you do is throw your hands in the air with an “I have no idea”, then we cannot help you. You either need to ask your hosts for assistance, pay someone to sort this out for you or learn to use FTP so that we can (hopefully) talk you through the necessary steps.
