Instagram video thumbnails constantly breaking

    Instagram video thumbnails are always disappearing and showing a broken image icon. I have to delete the feed, create a new feed, then reconnect it to my stream to fix. I have to do this every day or two and it’s becoming a real hassle.

    I am current on all updates.

  • Just wanted to let the devs know, I have this problem, too! Thumbnails on Instagram videos are broken.

    Same to me. Everything working until Instagram video thumbnails….

    Hi, URLs of pics and videos are expiring on Instagram/Facebook API side for security purposes, so they can’t be stored forever. The plugin will try to refresh links for last 20 posts or less in dependence on settings.

    I have had proxy images disabled almost from the beginning, to try and resolve this issue. This has been a persistent problem, since I installed this plugin about a year ago. I’ve been looking for a solution to this for almost that same amount of time and have seen many other user complaints about the issue.

    You say it’s because of IG/FB expiring images for security, but that doesn’t explain why image thumbnails work just fine even when the video ones are broken.

    I know that I can manually rebuild the feed cache, but are we supposed to rebuild it on an almost daily basis? Surely, there must be a better solution than that…

    I have the same problem. I bought this plugin for my client and he tortures me everyday bc of you. You need to fix this sh**.

    Hello, Instagram deprecated its old APIs in June 2020. We are implementing official API support for Flow-Flow Lite though the current version can still work but not for you. Official API will have some limitations like no location feeds, hashtag searches (different tags) are limited to 30 per week, possible to pull only Business and Creator accounts feeds. We got from Facebook all permissions needed and hope to get it ready soon enough.

    As for now, please get the latest version and try to re-authenticate with Instagram using our docs https://docs.social-streams.com/article/47-authenticate-with-instagram#method2.

    If this will not work, please wait for the next releases. Sorry for the inconvenience.
