Hi, I’m currently using the free version of this plugin ( and considering buy the PRO version), but I’m having an issue with the Instagram Login: I set up the Facebook Application and the Instagram product like the guide says, but I’m not getting the Instagram profile picture, but I get the Facebook avatar when I login with the Facebook Login product.
I Checked the database and I noticed the social media avatar is stored in the table usermeta, column moopenid_user_avatar. The users logged with Instagram has this field empty obviously.
Is there a way to get the Instagram profile picture? Am I configuring something wrong in the plugin or the App, or is not possible to get?

    Hi,

The new Instagram APIs do not return any profile picture by default. Instagram will be disabling the final Instagram Legacy API permission(“Basic”), all Legacy API capabilities will be fulfilled by the Instagram Graph API and the Instagram Basic Display API.

We have updated our Instagram application with new Basic Display APIs.If you want to get a profile picture, you need to give your App for review.
The Basic Display API rely on permissions that require App Review.

You can refer the document below App Review, please click on the link below:
    https://developers.facebook.com/docs/apps/review/

For testing purposes, you can assign anyone as an Instagram tester for your application and try logging in. Before the app gets reviewed and verified, it only returns id and username. There are several permissions available for Instagram applications you can verify your application accordingly.

But for now, if you want a profile picture to get returned to you then you can use our pre-configured application.

I’m having the same issue. Am I understanding correctly that once my app has been reviewed and approved, it will work to show the profile photo and name? At the moment for the testing users it only brings back the username, but the app is not yet reviewed.

    Thanks
