Instagram log in no longer working

    Hi there, I use both Facebook and Instagram login, however Instagram log in has stopped working. When someone taps / clicks it, authorizes Instagram, it redirects back to the main page and they’re not logged in (instead of redirecting to My Account page).

    They will see “log in” again instead of My Account.

    At the moment, Facebook log in still works.

    Instagram login API has been updated. We need to update the same in the code of our plugin. Will keep you posted here. You can also follow our social media pages to stay informed.

    Update your plugin to version 7.12.45, create a new Instagram app as described at the link https://support.heateor.com/how-to-get-instagram-client-id/

    I updated the plugin, and followed the steps in the link and created a new app. Tested it with my account in order to screen cast for the app submission, but the same problem persists.

    Clicking on Instagram login just opens up a new tab of my homepage, and doesn’t actually prompt a log in. What am I doing wrong?

    Are you sure you have followed every step from the link https://support.heateor.com/how-to-get-instagram-client-id/ ?
    Have you added an Instagram account as a tester so that you can try login before the submission gets approved?

    Yes, I’ve followed all the steps. I managed to get this working with no issues before Instagram login stopped working.

    I’ve tried with several instagram tester accounts and the results are the same. Clicking / tapping on the Instagram log in button results in a new tab opening with the homepage.

    One thing missing from the link provided was the URL for Deauthorize Callback URL and Data Deletion Request URL (which is required to save changes), is this the same as the Valid OAuth Redirect URIs?

    Sorry about this. You need to save url of the home page of your website in these options. We will update the documentation with screenshots.
    You can try enabling WordPress debugging. Then login using Instagram and let me know if you see any PHP error/warning on screen.
    If you drop an email at support[at]heateor[dot]com regarding the same, would be able to debug the issue for you.
