• Hello – after the recent update whenever I try to reconnect a client’s Instagram account, it connects to my Facebook account and brings up another client’s IG connection.

I do not want this plugin connecting to that client, I want it to connect to THIS client’s IG.

How do I get around this? I’ve tried manually entering the information but it doesn’t match.

    PLEASE HELP!

    Hey Wirebired Media,

We have a related FAQ here:

    https://smashballoon.com/get-access-token-from-another-account/

Have you tried these steps already? You may need to manually delete all cookies from your browser as sometimes users are still logged-in to Instagram after logging out.

You can also try using another browser.

Let me know if you need more help!

Yes, I have read that article a few times and tried those steps… I’ll try another browser. I thought I’d try that but I will do so again. Thanks!

When I try on a new browser it wants me to re-log in to Facebook. If I login to my FB account I get the same result.

I should not have to log in to the client’s FB account as I never need to do that… I have admin access to the FB page and I’m logged in to her Instagram.

    Hey again Wirebird Media,

Which type of connection are you attempting? A personal or a business? It sounds like a business connection but I wanted to be sure.

It sounds like it’s only listing your other client’s account as an option for connecting. We have this FAQ if that is the case:

    https://smashballoon.com/some-instagram-business-pages-arent-listed-after-authorizing-plugin/

Sorry to keep providing links only but this is tricky without being able to see the problem first hand.

    Thanks,

    Craig

Thanks Craig – that last link was the trick! Apparently I had locked the app down to just that one client’s account.

I added this client’s pages and social profiles and was able to reconnect the plugin. Thank you!!

It would be awesome if I could connect this plugin to a client’s WP site without having to show the list of all of my other client’s pages but apparently the recent API change makes that impossible? I know FB/IG is difficult to work with.

This fixed it though, thank you.

Glad you were able to figure that out!

Yes, unfortunately there is no way to specify which accounts you would like to display when using the tool to connect business accounts. The API response from Facebook just lists all of them.

I hope you have a great weekend!
