Instagram Embed is not displaying image

  • Embedding instagram links no longer works on my site.
    I enter the link and it shows the frame and caption of my post but does not display the image it is replaced with ‘view this post on instagram’.

    This previously worked on my site, I am unsure how to fix the issue.

    I have tried inserting the links via html, instagram embed block option and pasting link. I have also tried links from different Instagram accounts, and links to video and still content. All come out as I have said above.

    Yes, the same problem occurs.
    The embed appears correctly when in draft and shows image, when converted to preview or published it only shows an icon with ‘view this post on instagram’.

    amodelmoment I can see JS errors on the console can you please check with default theme like twenty Twenty.

    Yes it seems to be working with default theme Twenty Twenty when I preview it!

    You should talk to the theme author for this it could be a theme bug.

    I had this problem on a html page today. In the embed code that you can copy from Instagram by clicking the three little dots at the top of the page, there are three instances of the image permalink. Two of them start https one http. By changing the one that reads http to https, I solved this problem on my page.

    I have this problem with three different sites on three different themes. The embed worked perfectly until last month. The only plugin that is the same across these client sites is Yoast. Disabling Yoast doesn’t resolve the issue. Any thoughts?
