Inspired Theme Not Working with Update 3.8.1

  • Disclaimer: I saw threads with similar problems, but for earlier WP versions, hence the following:

    Problem: I Updated to WP 3.8.1, and got this message:

    “Fatal error: Cannot redeclare has_shortcode() (previously declared in /home/content/a/t/o/atoe3727/html/wp-includes/shortcodes.php:153) in /home/content/a/t/o/atoe3727/html/wp-content/themes/framework/functions/common.php on line 23.”

    My website is now crap.

    Further info: Dashboard says the Inspired WP Themes are installed but incomplete, and that templates are missing (no idea).

    I would be so very grateful for clear, laymen’s terms guidance, as I am not a Word Press/web design expert. A hired hand made the site for me, and I’ve simply maintained it…
