The search function that one can modify in the header seems different than both “advanced search” and normal search that one can insert into a page or post using blocks. Is there any way to insert the “header search” into a page or post, i.e. somewhere that is not in the header? I wrote some code that creates a “typing effect” in the search box, and it works in the header search, but not in the advanced or normal search blocks.

  • Hello @blozzle

I’m really sorry, but the header elements are not available for the page editors as of now. I’m afraid that you will need to readjust your code to make it work with the other search boxes for Gutenberg.

Indeed, we have an “Advanced Search” box present in Blocksy 2, but it is a simple implementation of our search feature using the standard form method, but it does have features such as live results and filters. If you’re looking to replicate the search modal view from the header, sadly it is not available for Gutenberg.

Sorry, but that’s how things go. ??

    Thanks.

    Hi Eduard,

Okay thanks, not the end of the world.

Another related question on the search, though: whenever I enter a search request, the results overflow onto other text on the page. I would send an image but I don’t think that is possible in this forum. Do you know what I mean? Is that a known thing?

    -Thanks

    Hi @blozzle,

Honestly, I haven’t heard of such an issue. Maybe you could record a short video and upload it via https://streamable.com?

Or provide a link to your live site?

    Thanks.

I think I’ve fixed it. It was Stackable block below the search bar, some kind of “recent posts” or “top posts” block, and when I removed that block and just added a normal paragraph block with text, the search results displayed fine, i.e. on top of the other text on the page, and the displayed links are properly clickable, etc.

    Hi @blozzle!

Glad to hear you’re on the right track!

    Take care.
