Inserting slider into php file

Hi,

Great plugin! I am running into a problem, our websites homepage is actually all coded into the homepage.php file. When I insert the shortcode it does not fire and only shows the shortcode text. I am not that seasoned when it comes to php, do you know how I can work around this?
