After upgrading from Ultimate TinyMCE to WP Edit by following the directions here (including the migration and deleting Ultimate TinyMCE), a bunch of buttons disappeared from the editor. Specifically I am looking for the button for inserting Short Codes and even more specifically the Signoff code.

How do I get this functionality with WP Edit?

    Hello there,

First.. I apologize for the ‘shock’. I know many people were not expecting this major of a transition, although I have been talking about it for a while.

Much of the functionality of the tinymce editor has changed in WordPress version 3.9. All of the core buttons included with tinymce4 are included with WP Edit… even those WP removes on default installations.

However, many of the buttons used by Ultimate Tinymce (not included with tinymce core) were developed by 3rd party, open-source, developers… which is why I included them.

But, with the new version… many of those popular 3rd party addons were not updated to be compatible with tinymce4. So, I had to manually re-code them. I spent months doing this.. preparing for this release.

Hence, some of the old addon buttons are now only available in the pro version of WP Edit.

I sincerely apologize for any inconveniences.

    Josh,
You did not answer the question.

The Signoff HTML code has been migrated correctly to WP Edit per your instructions. The Signoff feature is not grayed out in WP Edit which imply that it is available feature and does not require Pro.
So how do we use this the Signoff feature with WP Edit?

I’m sorry. I did misunderstand. I was going on 48 hours, no sleep, when I made that comment.

Yes, the signoff works properly with WP Edit.

It is under the “Extras” tab. You simply enter the content you want to add… then go to a post or page.. and insert:
    [signoff]
    .. anywhere you like.

So is the button for Shortcodes that was available un Ultimate TinyMCE and was also used to insert the [signoff] code, completely gone from WP edit?

The shortcodes button is not available in the free version of WP Edit.

The signoff functionality is there. It is under the “Extras” tab, in the admin settings page for WP Edit.

The shortcode button, which included the [signoff] shortcode (among others) is available in the Pro version.

However, the signoff shortcode feature still functions exactly as it did in Ultimate Tinymce.

I’m going to mark this as resolved. I think we are finally talking about the same thing. Sorry about that… it’s been a very long couple days.

Upgraded from ultimateTinyMCE to WP Edit yesterday. Since I was using the editor short codes throughout the website, and seem like it is not supported in WP Edit, some pages are broken.

Specifically, I was using this short code,
    [one_third]…[/one_third]

This seems not supported in WP Edit.

Would this require upgrading to the WP Edit Pro version or is there a simpler solution?
Here is my website example of broken page,

    Hello @plentyowish.

Would this require upgrading to the WP Edit Pro version or is there a simpler solution?

No… not at all. I ensured the shortcodes would not be affected when transitioning from Ultimate Tinymce to WP Edit.

I just visited your link.. and it appeared fine to me (three columns). Can you try manually emptying your browser cache? Since the stylesheet now comes from a different location; your browser is probably serving a cached version of the old file (which would be broken).
