Inserting read More Tag has no effect

Hello,
So I very recently started a blog at soitgoeson.com and I have only 2 posts but they are quite long so i changed the setting to only show a summery of the post for each article in a feed. The posts were still full length.
next I discovered the “insert read more tag” and decided I’d use that. So i clicked the button, told the page to update, and then tried viewing the page. The full article was still visible. So i went back, changed the view to text instead of visual and I inserted “<!–more–>” and updated the page once more and the full article was still being shown.
I am not sure on what to do at this point. I hope this is a fixable issue!
