Inserting page layout code

Hi
So i ordered a Theme, and it has this really cool home page. I asked the seller how i could get it and he told me to put the page layout code in. I got the code but i do not understand where to put it. Do i add it as a post? Do i put it in a page? and if i put it into a page how do i get that page to be my home page
