• Hi all

I have noticed a very strange problem on my blog recently with the way that images are handled when inserted into posts.

Basically when I use the insert media option and then upload an image, the link that is being put for the image is a link to the attachment page rather than a link to the actual image. This in turn then has a knock on effect when clicking the image in a post as it take the viewer to another page with the attachment opposed to opening the actual image.

I really can’t figure out why it would start doing this, any tips on how to switch it back would be really appreciated !

    Thanks

    Nik

  • Try selecting File instead of Post for the Link Url when inserting images.

Yup thats how I’ve fixed it, but it never used to require any input from me, it used to just always use the file link.

Is there a way to configure this ?

Now that you’ve changed it, it should keep that setting until you change it again.

    OK thanks !

Just to be clear, when you say:

“Try selecting File instead of Post for the Link Url when inserting images.”

Where exactly do you mean ? On the button for the url when looking at the properties for the image I just uploaded / inserted or somewhere else ?

    Thanks !
