Inserting graphics into blog

  • I know this can be done, but as a new user, I simply cannot figure out how. I simply want to insert photos into the text of my post. I need someone to walk me thru the process without thinking that I understand what your shortcuts stand for. I am not an HTML person. I use dreamweaver when working on my site. I want to insert the photos and make commentary on the photos. But remember, I am a novice.

  • If you are going to be doing a lot of photos, you might consider installing Gallery (which is easy to install), and then the WP G2 Gallery plugin. It makes posting and tracking photos easy, it resizes and thumbnails them to meet your needs.

    Look isn’t there an easier way to install a plug-in in word Press? I just want to install photos. I’m not looking for code. I need something which is self-installing. How about it. I’ve tried for hours to get gallery2 installed on my site. HELP!!!

    The Iimage Browser plugin that Ajay mentions couldn’t be easier. Download the plugin and upload 2 files, one to your plugin folder and the other to your admin folder. Then it’s a snap to upload pics to your blog. I use it for posting in my blog. I use Gallery2 for a separate photo gallery, and it was kind of a bear to set up.

    Click on Write, to start writing a new entry.
    Start writing your entry.
    When it’s time for a foto, roll your mouse pointer over Upload, which is to the right of Write.
    Right-click on Upload and choose ‘open in a new window’.

    Click on the ‘browse’ button and find the foto you want on your computer.
    Once you’ve found it, click on ‘Upload File’ at the bottom of the page.
    You will see something like

    <img src=’/wp-content/fire.JPG’ alt=’woman is the fire’ />

    come up. Instead of fire.JPG will be the name of your foto. “alt=…” will only show up if you wrote something into the Description part.

    Highlight everything between < and > with your mouse, right click on it and choose ‘copy’.
    Go back to the first window where you were writing your entry.
    Right-click and ‘paste’ into where you are writing.

    voila.

    And if you want quick access to the file upload page that yaksox talked about, you can use my plugin.

    And to make IImage easier I got two hacks for it ??
